Coming in 1994-95 STORMS Program Installation of precipitation gauges with radio transmitters, automatic dumping and calibration for actual rain and snowfall amounts to National Weather Service which will enhance warnings provided by National Weather Service. Program funded by Ohio Legislature after Shadyside Flood in Jefferson and Belmont counties. Completion of Haz Mat plans for ems, fire and law enforcement response enhancement. 911 Center/EMA-EOC Interface -- improved communications in emergencies. In-service with organizations tasked with roles in the emergency operations plan. Work towards establishment of a Haz Mat Response Team -- training, acquisition of equipment, etc. Acquisition of a command vehicle for direction and control of some emergencies -- available for in-route and on-scene through EMA. Improved coordination between local, state and federal agencies.
