Jan. 4-6 12-inch snowfall prompts snow emergency declaration. Heavy wet snow causes travel problems and power outages.

March 14 Planning meeting for problems with flood defense system as pumps down in Lawson Run station for flood control and river rising.
April 10-14 Flash flooding in Minford/Stockdale area and Scioto River flooding along State Route 104 in Camp Creek area. Nine homes evacuated due to flooding along Scioto River. A fatal crash occurred on Piketon-Minford Road due to flash flooding Sunday, April
April 15 Severe storms roll through downing trees. Tornadoes rip through midwest, with three sited in area. Level three activation of emergency center with updates weather information on approaching storms given schools hours by hours. All schools in shelter
April 29 & 30 Severe storms again roll through area with high winds and torrential rains.
May 2 Natural gas leak at Aristech Plant on main feeder line from Columbia Gas.
May 7 200-year flood event, with more than two inches of rain in less than two hours prompting flooding of roadways in the central and northwestern sections of the county. City of Portsmouth roadways washing out on Bonser, North Hill and more.
June 7 Storms tracked through area. Water quality concerns raised over Ethyl Di Bromide (EDB) in Ohio River to pass Portsmouth intake valves. EMA, EPA, city involved in discussions of treatment of chemical. Active carbon used.
June 21 Storms tracked through area, knocking out phone service to Ross County. Scioto EMA asked by Ohio EMA to make contact with Ross Sheriff Dispatch and Amateur Radio community to ascertain damage.
July 7 City water breaks prompting low water supply as reservoirs have problems with leakage and are not filled.
July 19 Diesel fuel spill on Rosemount Hill Road. EPA notifications and technical advise to fire department on cleanup.
July 24 Plane crash in Minford area off State Route 335 in hilly terrain kills all five passengers on board. Public information assistance given coroner and Ohio Patrol, with escort given Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety
Sept. 22 Semi overturn/fire, gravel cargo lost. Blocks State Route 104 with diesel fuel and diesel oil into ditch along road, technical advise on clean up.
Oct. 13 Sulfur Dioxide release at OSCO industries. Notification and procedural notifications with EPA and industry.
