New Storage Tanks Installed

Effective of December 2, 1998, United Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires all owners of underground storage tanks to be replaced with above ground tanks.

We had three underground storage tanks at our Scioto County Highway Department in Lucasville.

We awarded a contract to Thompson Petroleum of Portsmouth to do this work. The contractor excavated, removed, cleaned, transported and disposed of the two 12,000-gallon fuel tanks and one 550-gallon used oil tank. The contractor installed two new 12,000 gallon skid tanks, a concrete pad for the tanks, new pumps, wiring, conduit, dispensing units, piping, and a new 4" concrete walkway where they removed the 550-gallon tank.

The cost of this project was $87,875.36.
