Tour of the Scioto River Valley

bikersT.O.S.R.V. is a 210-mile bicycle tour that begins in Columbus and ends in Portsmouth. It is held each Mother's Day weekend. Bikers stay overnight in Portsmouth, then return to Columbus the following day.

Participants stay with host families, in gymnasiums, and anyplace else they can bed for a night.

Approximately 6,000 riders participate in the event, which is sponsored by Columbus Outdoor Pursuits in cooperation with the Huntington National Bank.TOSRV T.O.S.R.V. participants have come from all over America, several foreign countries and have ranged in age from two to 81. It is open to all capable cyclists and is a recreational and social rally. It is neither a race nor a test of stamina. It is intended that all participants ride the tour in a safe and intelligent manner.

Entries may be mailed to TOSRV97, P.O. Box 14384, Columbus OH 43214-0384. The cost is $35 per rider and includes luggage transportation, indoor sleeping floor space or camping for Saturday night, food and beverage during both legs of the trip, accident insurance, an embroidered patch, a T.O.S.R.V. identification number (must be worn by all riders), and a colorful certificate of participation.
